Thermage Perth – Thermage Flx Cost & Alternatives

Thermage Perth

What is Thermage FLX?

Table of Contents

Thermage is a non-invasive skin treatment that heats the skin and subcutaneous tissues, and uses radio frequency (RF). It is proposed to stimulate collagen production. According to realself.com September 1, 2020, a survey showed only just over half of survey respondents thought the treatment was ‘worth it’. Of respondents:

  • 60% of respondents have felt the treatment was ‘worth it’
  • 10% are ‘not sure’
  • 30% thought it was ‘not worth it’.

As a Plastic surgeon in Perth, I often see patients who do not get a response to Thermage in the inner arms or neck, for example. As an alternative, then I will often do a  medial arm reduction or mini facelift and neck for those areas. Some were told they do not see the results of three to six months later but just did not. Perhaps I’m seeing a biased group of patients, and I’m only seeing patients who fail the Thermage treatment.

Based on this, if you are undergoing Thermage, I recommend exploring the clinic return policy if you do not see the results of the treatment.

Alternatives to Thermage in Perth that I offer include:

  1. Botox
  2. Dermal Fillers
  3. Mini face and neck lift
  4. Medial Arm Reduction
  5. Medial Thigh Reduction

 Thermage FLX Perth

At CosMedicWest we do not provide Thermage or Thermage FLX treatments, as our patients achieve the results they desire with the before mentioned alternative treatment options.

Come to see Dr Mark Duncan-Smith for a Consultation to learn about the alternatives for Thermage treatment.

How does Thermage work?

Thermage heats the skin with infrared radiofrequency damaging the epidermis.

Thermage FLX delivers radiofrequency energy into dermal tissue while a cooling spray protects the outer layer of your skin.

It is alleged that as the dermal tissue is heated, the collagen becomes disrupted, then contracts and thickens, tightening the skin layer below the surface.

As the skin layers heal, they are reshaped and new collagen forms. This allegedly tightens the skin further. Some clinics suggest tightening may be visible immediately, but the full effects won’t be evident for a few weeks up to six months.

This is also the reason why some patients are not satisfied with the Thermage treatment, as they don’t see improvements over a prolonged period.

A few patients suffer permanent indentations in the skin, potentially because of heat damage to the fat layer below the dermis. Thermage can cause swelling for two to three days.

Risks of the Thermage FLX treatment include burns, scars, and temporary bumps and the procedure is painful, as reported by many patients (Source: Harvard Medical School).

Thermage Skin Tightening

Loose skin is most obvious in the front of the neck, and non-surgical face and neck lift is claimed by some Thermage clinics skin.

They also suggest wrinkled and loose skin around the eyes and cheeks can also have significant changes with decreased wrinkles.

Thermage Fine Lines

As we age, skin contains fine lines and wrinkles.

Some Thermage patients report that four to six weeks after the initial treatment puffiness around the eyes is reduced, smoothing the brow line, and fine lines and wrinkles become softer and less clear.

The effects of this therapy allegedly is to help tighten and lift the skin, evening out your skin tone, reduce wrinkles and fine lines and give you a more youthful appearance.

Thermage For Eyes

Thermage for the area around your eyes and is claimed to smoothen and tighten the skin around the eyes and eyelids so that the eyes look younger, lifted and more awake by the RF treatment.

Thermage Cost in Perth

A Thermage treatment cost depends on the size of the area being treated, and the individual clinical treatment. In general, the larger area that is covered by the Thermage process will increase the costs. For Prices regarding Thermage treatment please contact our office.

Smaller areas to be treated will make the procedure more affordable.

It is claimed the procedure itself is non-invasive with the benefit of having no downtime, which is what attracts some patients to the Thermage treatment in the first place, even though the results are not guaranteed.

How long does a Thermage FLX treatment take?

The treatments take about 90 minutes, depending on the body area covered by the Thermage FLX.

Will Thermage Work for me?

Although one should never consider Thermage a replacement for facelift surgery, it can be tried but ensure you question the refund policy of the clinic if you do not see results, immediately or in 6 months as some clinics suggest.

To find out what options will achieve your goals we recommend to book in for a consultation.

Are Results from Thermage immediate?

Immediately following the Thermage treatment results are allegedly visible, but subtle and sometimes less obvious to others around you.

It is important to reiterate that the Thermage results vary from person to person, depending on the condition of the skin and tissue beneath the skin collagen fibres.
